چکیده
This study aimed to evaluate the performance of infrared spectrum in range 4000?650 cm?1 for characterizing and differentiating dried ground coffee cherry pulp different varieties. The spectral data were subjected first second derivative treatments perform statistical analyses. Three varieties previously characterized color, water activity, moisture, chlorogenic acids, caffeine. results principal component analysis (PCA) showed that Fourier transform (FTIR) spectroscopy is a viable technique among varieties, showing best differentiation with treatment from derivative, which was mainly associated caffeine content acids. investigation FTIR attenuated total reflectance grown Colombia.

Equine poisoning by coffee husk (Coffea arabica L.)
BACKGROUND In Brazil, coffee (Coffea arabica) husks are reused in several ways due to their abundance, including as stall bedding. However, field veterinarians have reported that horses become intoxicated after ingesting the coffee husks that are used as bedding. The objective of this study was to evaluate whether coffee husk consumption causes intoxication in horses. RESULTS Six horses fed c...

BACKGROUND This study explored the bioactivities and nutrient compositions of coffee (Coffea Arabica L.) pulp which was prepared in three different ways [Coffee Pulp Extracts (CPE) 1-3]. METHODS The coffee pulp was prepared in three different ways by distinct selecting and freezing processes. The nutritional values, polyphenol contents, antioxidant activity, and antibacterial properties of th...

Green coffee beans of Coffea arabica and Coffea canephora accessions from different geographical origin (Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Honduras, Kenya, Mexico, Peru, Uganda and Vietnam) were extracted and the extracts analyzed by HPLC-ESI-MS/MS for the identification and quantification of chlorogenic acids and caffeine content. Principal component and cluster analyses were used to identify chemic...
متن کاملDevelopment of microsatellite markers for identifying Brazilian Coffea arabica varieties
Microsatellite markers, also known as SSRs (Simple Sequence Repeats), have proved to be excellent tools for identifying variety and determining genetic relationships. A set of 127 SSR markers was used to analyze genetic similarity in twenty five Coffea arabica varieties. These were composed of nineteen commercially important Brazilians and six interspecific hybrids of Coffea arabica, Coffea can...
متن کاملDevelopment and validation of SSR markers for Coffea arabica L
With the objective of developing new SSR markers for Coffea arabica, two enriched genomic libraries with probes (GT)15 and (AGG)10 were constructed. A total of 835 clones were sequenced and 756 presented good quality sequences. Redundant sequences were observed for 113 clones (14.94%). SSRs were found in 287 clones (38%). An estimated size of 417.5Kb of the C. arabica genome was sampled, with a...
